** If you are a new patient, and or you have new insurance, please call the front desk to verify your insurance. It may take us longer than 24 hours to verify the insurance but we do try to get to it as quickly as possible. As a courtesy we do verify all insurance for patients, and bill patients insurance plans. Ultimately patients are responsible to know and understand your individual insurance plans. Your insurance plan is a contract between you and your insurance company; It is your responsibility to know your coverage. You are required to provide correct and updated information regarding your insurance. We cannot guarantee your insurance benefits or the information your insurance company provides. You are responsible for the payment of co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles and all other procedures or treatment not covered by your insurance plan. You are ultimately responsible for the payment of provided care and treatment.

If this seems overwhelming, we work with a discount medical plan (CHUSA) for this reason.

Acupuncture primarily involves the use of very fine needles to manipulate the bodies circulatory system, nervous system and fascial layers to regenerate quickly. Acupuncture assists in helping the body through acute injuries, chronic recovery for pain conditions, as well as a host of bodily complaints. Many patients have sought out the use of acupuncture for internal medicine as well as musculoskeletal disorders.

Picture this: When you get a sliver, your body has the innate ability to eventually push it out on its own. This sliver has elicited a similar reaction that acupuncturists are triggering with their needles. Needles are inserted in specific points that create micro tears to signal the body to send receptors to that area thus creating a circulatory healing effect.

Some examples of what acupuncture treats are as follows:

Pain relief (chronic or acute)
Auto Injury
Sports Injury
Osteoarthritis
Neck Pain
Low Back Pain
Sciatica
Headaches / Migraines
Reproductive Health
Perinatal Care
Labor Stimulation
And more! Have questions? Want to know if acupuncture may be right for you? Schedule a “new patient visit” with one of our acupuncturist and get more information! Schedule through our Website, or reach out though any contact method found on our contact page.

Here at Zen Space Wellness and Cupping Studio we have the most experienced cupping practitioners in the state! Additionally our practitioners are trained in house, to ensure a cohesive experience.

We refer to cupping as a reverse deep tissue/massage with lymphatic drainage effects! We use a suction device to expand the tissue and create space for circulation and blood flow. It creates a controlled inflammatory response to specific areas that need special attention. Cupping can help with everything from muscle tension to sports injury, cold/flu, immune boosting, detoxification of tissue, migraines, etc. Basically anything related to the circulatory system, musculoskeletal system and immune system!

What exactly does cupping do? I am glad you asked. Cupping helps to increase circulation, and lubricate the tissue. It helps to break up scar tissue and adhesions that form in the muscle fibers and cause tension, thus relieving pain and tension. It helps to move the lymph and stimulate the immune system. And it detoxifies the tissue by pulling lactic acid and toxins out of the muscle layer and redistributing it into the blood stream so that it can be eliminated from the body through your natural detox pathways of your liver and kidneys.

We also offer facial cupping sessions. Facial cupping is a different from cupping on the body, as it is much gentler and should not leave marks. This treatment is great for relaxation, decreasing puffiness of the face, boosting collagen production, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Below is a break down of the different forms of cupping that we offer:

Fire Cupping
Korean Suction Cupping
Silicone Cupping (lymphatic drainage)

Chiropractic work has been sought after for over a century. This specific modality uses your body’s regenerative ability to assist in its own healing. Our chiropractor uses strategic manipulations to realign and rehabilitate. Chiropractors are commonly solicited for auto accident recovery as well as stiff necks, headaches, migraines, joint pain, osteoarthritis, degeneration, carpal tunnel, or spinal disc injury. We work along side our LMT’s and Acupuncturists because we believe that your best chance at healing involves a combination of services.

Our Specialties + Conditions Treated:
Prenatal Chiropractic Care:
As you prepare to welcome your little one into this world, your body is going through some of the greatest physiological changes anyone can experience. The journey is like that of a slow ascent up a mountain, where the peak is labor + delivery. Receiving consistent chiropractic care throughout your pregnancy can assist in maintaining optimal comfort and alignment for both you + your baby until they make their debut. Techniques used specifically in prenatal chiropractic care are very gentle + safe for you and your baby.

The Webster Technique is a protocol that uses low force methods to treat the joints of your pelvis (hips, sacrum, SI joints, tailbone, and pubic bone), along with the ligaments and muscles that attach to it. This helps to decrease pain caused by muscle tension, and correct imbalances that can be common in pregnancy due to your shift in center of gravity, and the natural adaptations that occur as your baby grows. Our focus is to work with you throughout your pregnancy to ensure optimal alignment of the pelvic bowl so it is in the best position possible for labor + delivery.

Common concerns in pregnancy that respond well to prenatal chiropractic care:

Low back pain
SI (sacroiliac) joint pain
Hip pain
Round ligament pain
Symphysis Pubis Discomfort/Dysfunction (SPD); Pubic/Groin Pain
Pregnancy Induced Carpal Tunnel
Daily or Chronic Aches + Pains:
We ask so much of our bodies each day, that it is no wonder they need regular TLC.

Whether you have a desk bound job and suffer from neck and upper back pain, experience low back pain from being on your feet all day, or struggle with a long history of headaches, we can help!

Mental and emotional stress often manifest as physical aches + pains as well, and as neuromusculoskeletal specialists, we have the tools to help downregulate your central nervous system, decrease tension and pain, and increase your quality of life via improved mobility and overall well being.

Our Chiropractors use a variety of techniques including Diversified Adjusting, Cupping, Soft Tissue Work, Electrical Stim, and Taping to promote healing for your body and system as a whole.

Auto Accident Related Injuries:
If you or a loved one have been involved in an auto accident, we are readily available to help you get back to doing the things you love!

Even auto collisions that are viewed as “minor” can lead to more chronic, long-term conditions when not treated properly. Effective treatments and proper diagnosis are the most successful way to reduce pain and restore function.

In addition to pain in the neck and back, individuals involved in auto accidents often present with:

Headaches
Jaw Pain
Pain in joints other than the spine, including: shoulders, arms, hips, or legs
Difficulty concentrating
Increased irritability, or more prone to irritability
Increased fatigue/lethargy
If you have any questions or concerns about your motor vehicle accident coverage, our team is here to help!

Lindsey discovered this transformational medicine in her 20’s, when she developed a frustrating health issue that Western Medicine could not resolve. Her symptoms were being treated, but not the underlying issue, similar to putting out fires while leaving the coals burning. She began receiving acupuncture and the healing was profound. While receiving acupuncture, she had an epiphany while laying on the table, with needles in, that she wanted to learn Chinese Medicine! She graduated from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2009. She spent 8 years treating patients in a community acupuncture setting, which allowed her to treat 1,000’s of patients and hone her treatment skills.

Lindsey is well-versed in how to treat pain conditions. She is intrigued with the gut-brain connection and loves treating digestion challenges and mental health. She has also been extensively studying the effects of trauma on the mind and body and believes acupuncture can be used as a tool to help the body release trauma, reconnect the mind and body, and settle the nervous system.

When she is not in the clinic, she loves to spend time with her 2 daughters and spouse, walking along rivers and meandering through the streets of Portland.

Lindsey accepts the following Insurance: BCBS, Moda, Cigna, Providence, Aetna, Devoted, Pacific Source, United Health Care, TriWest, MVA, Cash and CHUSA.
